What to check in the documentation

  • Material grade and the standards and editions specified on the order.
  • Tube outside diameter, wall thickness and supplied condition.
  • Heat or batch identification that matches the delivered product.
  • Chemical and mechanical test information applicable to the specification.
  • Inspection document type, validation and any project-specific tests.

EN 10204 inspection documentation

EN 10204 describes types of inspection documents. Type 3.1 and type 3.2 have different validation requirements. Agree the required type and inspection arrangements with Fluidline for the product and project; do not infer them from the grade or ASTM designation.

DocumentSelection context
Type 3.1Specific inspection results validated by the manufacturer’s authorised inspection representative, independent of the manufacturing department.
Type 3.2Additional validation involving the purchaser’s authorised representative or the inspector designated by the applicable regulations.

Keep identification through installation

Preserve the link between heat identification, delivery paperwork and the material certificate when tubing is cut or issued to an installation. Project QA procedures should define how remaining lengths and cut pieces are identified.

Inspection documentation supports traceability. It does not replace correct system design, material compatibility assessment, installation inspection or commissioning checks.

Prepare a project documentation enquiry

Send your specification, inspection and test plan, certificate requirement and document format together with the tube schedule. This allows Fluidline to establish the documentation scope alongside price and delivery.
